Storytelling Copywriter
Storytelling in business is about wrangling a story around your business and products. Copywriting isn't about the hard sell, your customers want to learn more about you and the best way to convey information is via a story.
The hero's story is how your business was founded, or how products were developed, or how you grew. Customers don't care that your overhead expenditures were cut by 3.5% last quarter - they want to know why their money and reputation should be partnered with your product or service.

Demographic Design had all the beer can designs completed for the full range of beers and ales but needed copy.
The brief was to write a humourous description and mention the key ingredients and flavours. I managed to weave these elements, as well as the tagline (which I created), into a short story for each can and it's corresponding character.
I set up Ellis Copywriting (as a freelance copywriter) because I love writing and I'm good with words. I also love helping people out and learning more about different businesses.
My storytelling skills have been honed through writing my novels and screenplays. 'HOW WE GOT TO TODAY' was traditionally published by Headline in 2020.
Novel writing is different to copywriting for shampoo, but both disciplines involve engaging the reader/watcher and compelling them not to go elsewhere before they read/watched the whole thing.

It's really hard to find someone who listens to a brief, creating a back story that flows seamlessly, adding a voice or narrative to an otherwise still image. I can't recommend Ben highly enough - he is a wordsmith extraordinaire!
